SUBSTRING (binary)

The SUBSTRING()
function calculates the substring of a binary string given a starting position and optionally, a length.
SELECT substring(cast('hello world' as bytea), 7), substring(cast('hello world' as bytea), 7, 1);
create.select( binarySubstring("hello world".getBytes(), 7), binarySubstring("hello world".getBytes(), 7, 1)).fetch();
The result being
