TRIM (binary)

The TRIM() function trims specified bytes from a binary string from both ends. See also LTRIM (binary) and RTRIM (binary).
SELECT trim(cast(' hello ' as bytea), cast(' ' as bytea));
create.select(binaryTrim(" hello ".getBytes(), " ".getBytes())).fetch();
The result being
+-------+ | trim | +-------+ | hello | +-------+
